WFNU Frogtown Radio amplifies the voices of those often underrepresented in mainstream media and provides free radio broadcast training, providing valuable career skills and on-air practice, giving community members a platform to express their talents, creativity, and perspectives. We prioritize ensuring that marginalized voices, including people of color, low-income individuals, women, and people with disabilities, are heard and celebrated. As a low-power, volunteer-run station broadcasting on 94.1 FM, we serve a 5-mile radius around University and Dale avenues in St. Paul, with a focus on the Frogtown, Rondo, and Midway neighborhoods. Through our smartphone app and online streaming at wfnu.org, listeners worldwide can hear our diverse programming, from nearly every music genre to local talk shows and news.
As of summer 2024, WFNU has over 75 volunteers who dedicate their time, talents and energies into broadcasting quality on-air programming. Our volunteer hosts and DJs come from a variety of backgrounds and locations with varying interests and talents.
